Natural and Dyed Lock Wool

About our Lock Wool...

Our lock wool has been through several wash and rinse cycles.  Once it is squeaky clean, it is air dried and fluffed.  At this point we hand dye some of the locks.  Our dye batches are small (usually about 2 pounds per color); each color is a limited quantity original, with some variation from one dye batch to the next.   In other words make sure you order enough from one batch for your project.   This wool all comes from the pampered sheep on our farm.  As with our raw fleece, there is occasionally some vegetation in our lock wool.  This comes from the fact that our sheep free range the hills and woods.  We go to great lengths to keep this vegetation to a minimum!  Lock wool is great to spin from lock, card and blend,  or adds wonderful texture to felted items.  Check often, colors change frequently!

Natural Colored Wool Locks

	This is a lofty medium brown lock wool.  The locks are open and very easy to card or spin from the lock.  There are highlights of various brown color. $1.50 per ounce
	Silver and creams, this is a very pretty fleece.  It is all washed and ready to card and spin, or it would dye to make a beautiful heathered wool yarn! $1.50 per ounce
	Creamy white Cotswolds Locks, great for dolls.  Make wonderful natural curls for Santa, with a bit of luster. $2.00 per ounce
	Lustrous!  This is a long staple length, about 5-6" and has incredible luster.  It is a medium wool type. $1.50 per ounce

Dyed Lock Wool

	This cranberry red wool is heathered with dark and black colors. $2.00 per ounce
	Raspberry Sherbet.  This is a lambs wool fleece with intact lock.  Medium crimp. $2.00 per ounce
	Gray green variegated locks.  This is a lambs wool fleece with a medium crimp $2.00 per ounce
	Blueberry.  This is a loftier lock wool, of medium crimp $2.00 per ounce
	Blue gray locks, this is a lambs wool fleece and has well defined locks. $2.00 per ounce
