In the spring we have lots of bouncing lambs.
If you choose to adopt a lamb, you can name them, too!
We are now taking adoptions for 2025 lambs that will be born in March/April.
The spring lamb adoption works just the same as our other adoption, but you choose a lamb at lambing time. The adoption runs for one year, at the time of adoption if the lambs are not born yet, I will send out a notecard with a flock photo, the most recent newsletter and information about the adoption program. If you are giving the adoption as a gift it makes a nice announcement.
Before lambing we will make arrangements to determine what type/color of fleece the adoptee would like and once lambing rolls around I will select a lamb that will be a good match. Contact us to make arrangements. While you wait for lambing season you will receive the newletter updates about what is happening on the farm.
In the fall you receive the washed fleece or can select the option to have it carded into rovings. If you choose rovings please add it to your shopping card, this can also be added later.
Adopt a Sheep | Choose a Spring Lamb
The adoption lasts for one year. During this time you will receive updates on what is happening here on the farm. Your adoption fee includes the fleece from your adopted sheep and 6 note cards with your sheep’s photo on them. These make great gift announcements if you are adopting the sheep for someone else. Your raw wool fleece will be washed and mailed to you, all included in the Adopt a Sheep fee. This makes a wonderful gift for the hard to buy for hand spinner or fiber artist, a 7th year anniversary gift of wool, and not to mention a great gift for yourself!
Please note that the shipping charge paid is for the wool to be sent priority mail, the welcome packet (which is sent as soon as the adoption begins) is sent first class mail. If you need it in a rush I can email information to be printed for gift giving, or contact me about priority shipping.
If you would like to receive ready-to-spin wool rovings, we will be glad to have your fleece carded at the local mill. There is an additional mill fee.
